Artist Statement

 

I do not set out to produce art about one subject matter. I am constantly inspired by everyday events and my work tends to focus on things that reminds us of the natural world, things we see, people we have met, and places we have been. Art can speak to all of us, it can lift spirits, provoke memories, create emotions and connect the past to the present. For me creating is a liberating experience, I am always in a happy state even during time when I struggle with the process. The creative journey starts with me, a concept, and a blank piece of paper, my senses awake and it becomes. My goal is to overwhelm the viewer and immerse them in the artist experience.
